Demi (Demetria Devonne Lovato) was born August 20, 1992. She is an American actress and singer. She made her first appearance in “Barney & Friends”.
She later appeared in Disney’s “Camp Rock” and went on to sign a recording contract with a small record label, where she released her first album, “Don’t Forget”, which went GOLD.
She was given her own television show, “Sonny with a Chance”, which ended after the second season, and then followed up with another album, “Here We go Again”.
After the album, she began her first 40-city national concert tour during the mid to end of 2009. In 2010 she headlined her first international tour.
In late 2010, she had a breakdown and chose to enter a treatment facility, after punching a female dancer.
After treatment, she admitted she suffered from bulimia, was hurting herself, and was using drugs, including cocaine, and alcohol to stay numb. She was also diagnosed as bipolar.
In 2012, MTV ran a documentary created about her struggles. Continuing to release albums, she also joined the X-Factor TV show for one season. She also appeared on Glee season 5.
She is the voice behind “Let it Go”, for the Disney film “Frozen”, a song that has touched kids of all ages (and during 2014, most anyone 10-14 could sing the song!).
She continues to perform, and recently agreed to a new duet with Nick Jonas.
